Hi everyone! I'm looking for some help understanding the ABCD of first aid. I'm familiar with the basics of first aid, but I'm not sure what ABCD stands for and how it applies to helping someone in an emergency situation. Could someone please explain it to me and provide some examples of how it's used? I would really appreciate any help or advice that anyone can provide! Thank you.

ABCD stands for the four steps of providing first aid:

A - Assess the Situation: When assessing the situation, you should look at the person’s vital signs, such as pulse and breathing, and check for any bleeding, fractures, or other injuries.

B - Breathing: If the person is not breathing, you should begin CPR or mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

C - Circulation: If the person has a pulse but is not breathing, you should provide chest compressions to circulate the oxygen-rich blood throughout the body.

D - Defibrillate: If the person is not breathing and has no pulse, you should use an automated external defibrillator (AED) to shock the heart back into a normal rhythm.
