I'm looking for an alternative word for 'vaccinate'. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm trying to find a better way to explain this concept to my students, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I know that vaccinate means to give someone a shot or injection to help protect them from a disease, but I'm looking for a more accurate and interesting way to explain this. I'd like to keep it simple and to the point, so any ideas would be welcome.

A synonym for vaccinate is immunize. Vaccinating or immunizing someone means to give them a vaccine in order to protect them from a specific disease. Vaccines work by introducing a weakened or killed form of a virus or bacteria into the body, which triggers the body’s immune system to create antibodies that will protect against the real virus or bacteria. Vaccines are used to prevent a wide range of diseases, from the flu to measles, and are an important tool in public health.

Answer: Vaccinating is an important step to protecting your body from certain illnesses and diseases, and the term for this is "immunizing". Immunizing is the process of administering a vaccine to help your body develop an immunity to the virus or bacteria it is designed to protect against.
