I'm looking for some help with understanding what a dental cyst is. I have heard of them, but I am not sure what they are or how they are treated. Can anyone provide some insight on the subject? What are the causes and symptoms of a dental cyst? Are there any treatments available? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

A dental cyst is a fluid-filled sac that occurs in the jawbone and soft tissues around the teeth. These cysts are usually benign, meaning they are not cancerous. Dental cysts can cause pain, swelling, and may even lead to tooth loss if left untreated. Symptoms of a dental cyst include facial swelling, jaw pain, and a visible lump or bump. Diagnosis is usually made through a physical examination and imaging tests such as a CT scan or MRI. Treatment typically involves draining the cyst and removing any infected tissue. In some cases, surgery may be needed to remove the cyst.
