What imaging for pancreatitis complications

I'm looking for help with understanding what imaging is necessary for pancreatitis complications. I've heard talk of CT scans and ultrasounds, but I'm not sure what I should be looking at or what's the most appropriate imaging for this condition. Has anyone here had experience with this and can offer some advice? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas, a large organ located behind the stomach. This condition can cause abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. In some cases, it can lead to complications, such as pancreatic fluid collection, pseudocyst, and abdominal abscess. To diagnose pancreatitis and its complications, your doctor may order imaging tests, such as computed tomography (CT) scans, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound.

Computed Tomography (CT) Scan

A CT scan is an x-ray procedure that creates detailed images of the internal organs and structures of the body. It is a fast and effective way to diagnose the extent of pancreatic inflammation and complications. CT scans can detect fluid collections in the abdomen and organs, as well as any enlarged or damaged organs.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

MRI is a type of imaging that uses strong magnetic fields and radio waves to create detailed images of the body. It is often used to look for signs of inflammation, such as swelling and fluid collections. MRI can also be used to detect any changes in the structure of the pancreas, such as enlargement or cysts.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a type of imaging that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the internal organs. It is often used to detect any abnormalities in the pancreas, such as cysts or fluid collections. Ultrasound can also be used to measure the size of the pancreas and check for any blockages.
