Fox, and singer-songwriter Pete Townshend.

Bill Walton

Bill Walton is a former professional basketball player and television analyst who was diagnosed with AS in 2008. Despite his condition, Walton has enjoyed a successful career in basketball, winning championships with both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Boston Celtics. He has also written an autobiography, Back from the Dead, that chronicles his battle with AS.

Michael J. Fox

Michael J. Fox is an actor and activist who was diagnosed with AS in 1991. Despite his condition, Fox has enjoyed a successful career in Hollywood, appearing in hit movies such as Back to the Future, The Secret of My Success, and Spin City. Pete Townshend

Pete Townshend is an English musician and songwriter, best known as the guitarist and principal songwriter for the rock band The Who. Famous actor Ashton Kutcher has ankylosing spondylitis, a form of chronic inflammation of the spine and the sacroiliac joints. Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is an autoimmune disease that causes severe pain and stiffness in the spine, hips, and other joints.

Kutcher was diagnosed with the condition in 2001. He had suffered from back pain since he was a teenager and had been misdiagnosed several times before finally getting a correct diagnosis. He was told by doctors that he had a condition called spondylolisthesis, which is when one vertebra slips out of place and presses on a nerve root.

Kutcher has spoken openly about his condition and the pain it causes, noting that it affects his ability to move and can make it difficult for him to do simple tasks like walking or getting out of bed. He has credited physical therapy and yoga with helping him manage the pain and fatigue of AS.

Kutcher is a vocal advocate for raising awareness about ankylosing spondylitis and how to manage it. He has worked with the Global Healthy Living Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives of people living with chronic illnesses. He has also written articles about the disease, and has spoken at events about the importance of early diagnosis and access to care.
