I'm trying to understand the meaning of the word "malign" and I'm hoping someone here can help me out. What does it mean exactly? I've heard it used in a few contexts but I'm not sure what the full definition is. Can anyone provide me with a clear explanation? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Malign (adjective) means to be malevolent or to have ill-will towards someone. It can also be used to describe something or someone that is harmful or destructive. Malign intent is the intention to do harm to someone or something. Malignity is the quality of being malicious or cruel.
