Hi everyone! I'm looking for help understanding what fibrom means in medicine. I've heard that this is a type of tumor but I'm not sure if that's correct. Could anyone explain what fibrom means in a medical context and if it's related to tumors? I'd really appreciate any help and information.

Fibrom is a term used to describe a benign (non-cancerous) tumor made up of fibrous tissue. Fibrous tissue is a type of connective tissue found throughout the body, and fibroms typically form on organs, muscles, or other tissues. These tumors are usually non-painful and benign, although they can cause other issues such as pressure on surrounding organs, inflammation, or other complications. Fibroms can be found in a variety of organs, including the lungs, heart, kidneys, and liver. Treatment for fibroms typically involves surgical removal of the tumor, but in some cases, radiation therapy or chemotherapy may be necessary.
