An episode of ADHD can vary greatly from person to person, but typically it will involve difficulty in paying attention, impulsiveness, and possibly hyperactivity. Common symptoms of an episode include difficulty focusing on a task, difficulty following directions, difficulty in staying organized, being easily distracted, difficulty in controlling behavior, and being overly talkative. Furthermore, an episode can also involve mood swings, restlessness, and irritability or frustration. In order to manage an episode, it is important to talk to a medical professional and follow any recommended treatments, such as lifestyle changes, counseling, or medication. It may also be helpful to practice relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing or mindfulness meditation, to help manage symptoms.
