Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I'm hoping to get some help from other forum users. I'm wondering what a BPD high feels like. From what I've read, it seems like it can be overwhelming and all-consuming, but I'm not sure exactly what that means. Has anyone else experienced this? Could you please share your own experiences with me and how you managed to cope with it? Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a mental illness characterized by intense and unstable emotions, difficulty managing relationships, and difficulty controlling impulses. People with BPD experience extreme highs and lows, known as “BPD highs.”

Physical Symptoms of a BPD High

People with BPD may experience physical symptoms of a high, such as feeling energized, having a racing heart, and feeling an increased sense of alertness. People may also experience an increase in their libido and a feeling of euphoria.

Mental Symptoms of a BPD High

During a high, people with BPD may feel invincible and have an increased sense of self-confidence. They may experience a feeling of happiness and contentment, have grandiose ideas, and be more talkative than usual. People may also be more creative, have increased energy, and feel more productive.

Emotional Symptoms of a BPD High

People with BPD may feel intense emotions during a high, such as joy, excitement, and elation. They may be easily overwhelmed and have a difficult time controlling their emotions. People may also experience an increased sense of empathy.

Behavioral Symptoms of a BPD High

During a high, people with BPD may engage in risk-taking behaviors, such as impulsive spending, sexual promiscuity, and substance abuse. People may also become more argumentative and have a hard time controlling their anger.

Treatment for BPD Highs

It is important for people with BPD to seek treatment for their symptoms. Treatment can include psychotherapy, medication, and lifestyle changes, such as getting enough sleep, eating a healthy diet, and exercising regularly.

A BPD high can be a very intense experience. It can feel energizing, exciting and exhilarating, as well as overwhelming and out of control. It can cause intense emotions and lead to impulsive and reckless behaviors. During a BPD high, it's common to have racing thoughts, an exaggerated sense of self-confidence and an unrealistic belief that anything is possible. It can also lead to increased irritability and moodiness, as well as a decrease in impulse control. It's important to remember that while BPD highs can be enjoyable, they can also be dangerous and potentially lead to harm.

A high for someone with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can feel very different for each individual. Generally, it is a period of intense, often overwhelming emotion, both positive and negative. It can be accompanied by a burst of energy, causing the person to feel excited and motivated, as well as impulsive and reckless. It is also common for the person to feel a heightened sense of self-confidence and self-esteem. However, it can also be a time of intense fear and paranoia, and can lead to self-destructive behaviors. Ultimately, it is important to remember that everyone experiences highs differently, and support is available for those struggling with BPD.

A BPD high can feel like a rollercoaster of emotions. On one hand, the person may feel overwhelming joy and elation, with a sense of heightened energy and excitement. They may feel like they can do anything and are able to take on the world.

On the other hand, the person may also feel a sense of restlessness, irritability, and impulsivity. They may be easily distracted and have difficulty focusing or completing tasks. They may also feel like their emotions are out of control, and they may feel overwhelmed by them.

The highs and lows associated with BPD can be extreme, and the person may feel like they are on an emotional rollercoaster. They may feel like they are on an emotional high, only to be followed by a deep and intense low. The highs and lows can be so extreme that they can interfere with the person's daily functioning and relationships.

It is important to note that everyone's experience with BPD is unique and individual. While some people may experience higher highs and lower lows, others may not. It is important to seek professional help if you or someone you know is struggling with BPD.
