Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone here can help me. I'm trying to find out what disorder is caused by a high red blood cell count. I know that this is an indicator of some illnesses, but I'm not sure which ones. Does anyone here have any experience with this or any helpful information? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

High RBC is an abbreviation for high red blood cell count. A high red blood cell count is a condition in which the number of red blood cells in the blood is greater than the normal range. The medical term for this condition is erythrocytosis. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including certain types of cancer, anemia, and other diseases. High red blood cell count can also be caused by certain medications or supplements, as well as lifestyle factors such as smoking and drinking alcohol. Symptoms of high red blood cell count include fatigue, shortness of breath, and headaches. Treatment for this condition depends on the underlying cause.
