Subtitle Forum: What Celebrities Have Asperger's

Asperger's Syndrome, or AS, is a form of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) that can cause social and communication difficulties. It is estimated that around 700,000 people in the United States have Asperger's, and many of those individuals are celebrities. Though the exact number of celebrities with Asperger's is not known, here are a few that have been confirmed or rumored to have the condition.

Dan Aykroyd: Dan Aykroyd, an actor and comedian best known for his roles in films like Ghostbusters and The Blues Brothers, is one of the most widely known celebrities with Asperger's. Aykroyd was diagnosed with the condition in the 1980s and has since become an advocate for those with autism spectrum disorder.

Courtney Love: Singer and actress Courtney Love has long been rumored to have Asperger's, though she has never been officially diagnosed. She has spoken openly about her difficulties with social interactions and her struggles with anxiety, which are both common symptoms of AS.

Daryl Hannah: Actress Daryl Hannah, best known for her roles in films like Blade Runner and Splash, is another celebrity who has been rumored to have Asperger's. Her brother, Page Hannah, confirmed the diagnosis in a 2008 interview with The Guardian.

Hans Asperger: The condition was first identified by Austrian pediatrician Hans Asperger in 1944, and the disorder was named after him. Though Asperger himself did not have the condition, he is considered to be one of the most important figures in the history of autism research.

Temple Grandin: Temple Grandin is one of the most famous people with Asperger's. She is an animal scientist and autism advocate who has written several books on the subject. Grandin has used her experience to help others understand and cope with the condition.
