"Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me out here! I'm trying to understand what bone is in neck strangulation and I'm having a hard time finding a reliable answer. Can anyone explain what bone is in the neck that can be strangled? Is it the hyoid bone? Or is there something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The bone typically involved in neck strangulation is the hyoid bone. The hyoid bone is a U-shaped bone located between the chin and the larynx in the front of the neck. It is the only bone in the body that does not attach to any other bone and serves as an anchor point for several muscles in the neck and tongue. When pressure is applied to the neck, the hyoid bone can fracture, leading to serious injury or death.
