I'm looking for help from other forum users about the topic of what bone in the neck breaks when strangled. I'm not sure if I've heard correctly that it's the hyoid bone, but I'd like to get more information on this topic. Does anyone here have firsthand knowledge of this kind of injury? If so, I'd love to hear what you have to say. Is there any additional information available on the specific effects of strangulation on the neck bone? Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Subtitle: Hyoid Bone

The hyoid bone is a small, U-shaped bone located in the neck, just below the chin and above the larynx. It is the only bone in the body that is not connected to any other bone. It is held in place by several muscles and ligaments, and is an important structure in swallowing and speaking. When someone is strangled, the hyoid bone is often the first bone to break due to the force of the neck being constricted. This can lead to serious complications, including death.
