Immune System Blood Tests

The immune system is a complex network of cells, tissues, and organs that protect the body from infection and disease. Blood tests can be used to detect a wide range of immune-related conditions, such as allergies, autoimmune diseases, and infections.

Complete Blood Count (CBC)
A complete blood count (CBC) is a common test that measures the number of red and white blood cells, as well as the amount of hemoglobin, in a sample of blood. The CBC is used to diagnose a wide range of immune-related disorders, such as anemia, leukemia, and lymphoma. It can also be used to identify infections, as well as to monitor the effectiveness of treatments.

Antibody Test
An antibody test is used to detect antibodies, which are proteins produced by the immune system to fight off foreign substances, such as bacteria and viruses. Antibody tests can be used to diagnose allergies, autoimmune diseases, and infections.

T-Cell Test
A T-cell test is a blood test that measures the number of T-cells in a sample of blood. T-cells are a type of white blood cell that play a major role in the immune system. A T-cell test can be used to diagnose certain types of immune disorders, such as HIV/AIDS, as well as to monitor the effectiveness of treatments.

C-Reactive Protein (CRP) Test
A C-reactive protein (CRP) test is a blood test that measures the amount of CRP, a protein released by the liver in response to inflammation. A high level of CRP in the blood can indicate an infection, inflammation, or autoimmune disorder.

Rheumatoid Factor (RF) Test
A rheumatoid factor (RF) test is a blood test that measures the amount of RF, an antibody produced by the immune system. A high level of RF in the blood can indicate an autoimmune disorder, such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) Test
An antinuclear antibody (ANA) test is a blood test that measures the amount of ANA, an antibody produced by the immune system. A high level of ANA in the blood can indicate an autoimmune disorder, such as lupus.
