Hello,

I'm looking for some help regarding FND and the symptoms associated with it. I've recently heard about it and want to understand more about it.

What are the symptoms of FND? Are they physical or mental? How can someone recognize if they or someone they know has FND?

I would really appreciate any advice or information from anyone who has personal experience with FND or has done research on the topic.

Thank you in advance for your help.

FND (Functional Neurological Disorder) is a complex neurological condition characterized by movement, sensory, and cognitive symptoms. Symptoms of FND can vary depending on the individual, but may include:

Motor Symptoms

- Abnormal movement of the arms or legs

- Muscle weakness

- Loss of balance or coordination

- Difficulty walking

Sensory Symptoms

- Numbness or tingling sensations

- Sensations of burning, prickling, or electric shock

- Unusual sensations in the body

Cognitive Symptoms

- Difficulty concentrating

- Memory problems

- Slowed thinking or processing speed

- Problems with word-finding or verbal fluency

The severity of FND symptoms can range from mild to severe, and can come and go over time. It is important to note that FND is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning that other causes of the symptoms must be ruled out before a diagnosis can be made. It is recommended that individuals seek medical evaluation from a qualified health professional to confirm the diagnosis.
