Level 1 autism in toddlers can present in a variety of ways. Generally, a toddler with Level 1 autism may have difficulty with social interactions, such as making eye contact, smiling, or responding to their name. They may also have difficulty with communication, such as limited use of words or gestures, difficulty initiating conversations, or delays in language development. Additionally, a toddler with Level 1 autism may have difficulty with self-regulation, such as frequent tantrums, difficulty transitioning, or difficulty controlling emotions. Finally, they may experience sensory sensitivities, such as an aversion to certain textures, sensitivity to certain sounds or lights, or difficulty with self-care tasks.
