Outlet obstruction constipation is caused by a physical blockage in the rectum or anus. Symptoms of outlet obstruction constipation include infrequent bowel movements, hard and dry stool, abdominal pain, and bloating. Treatment for outlet obstruction constipation includes surgery to remove the blockage and increasing dietary fiber, increasing water intake, and increasing physical activity.
