Fats are used to insulate, protect, and cushion organs and tissues. Minerals and vitamins are essential for the body’s processes, such as cell growth and repair, muscle contraction, and nerve conduction.
3. Regulation: Nutrients are also used to regulate body processes. Vitamins, minerals, and enzymes are all essential in the body’s biochemical processes, such as metabolism, digestion, and cell respiration. Minerals are also necessary for proper muscle and nerve function. Additionally, some nutrients are used to help the body detoxify and eliminate waste.
