Symptoms of Bacterial Bronchitis

Bacterial bronchitis is a type of respiratory infection caused by bacteria. It is most common in young children, but adults can also be affected. Symptoms of bacterial bronchitis can include fever, a cough that produces mucus, chest pain, wheezing, and difficulty breathing.

Fever
A fever is the most common symptom of bacterial bronchitis. It is usually a low-grade fever, but can reach up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius). It is important to seek medical attention if the fever persists for more than three days.

Cough
A cough is another common symptom of bacterial bronchitis. It is usually productive, meaning it produces mucus. This mucus can be clear, yellow-green, or even bloody. The cough can last for several weeks and can be accompanied by chest pain.

Wheezing
Wheezing is a high-pitched whistling sound that is heard when breathing. It is a common symptom of bacterial bronchitis and can indicate that the airways are inflamed or obstructed.

Difficulty Breathing
Difficulty breathing is another symptom of bacterial bronchitis. This can be caused by the inflammation of the airways or by the buildup of mucus. It can be a sign of a more serious infection and should be evaluated by a doctor.

Chest Pain
Chest pain is another common symptom of bacterial bronchitis. It is usually a sharp, stabbing pain that is felt in the chest when coughing or taking a deep breath. This pain should be evaluated by a doctor to determine the cause.
