Underlying Health Conditions
Underlying health conditions are pre-existing medical conditions that can make individuals more vulnerable to complications from COVID-19. These conditions can include, but are not limited to:
Cardiovascular Disease: This includes coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and hypertension.
Respiratory Diseases: This includes COPD, asthma, and interstitial lung disease.
Diabetes: Type 1 and type 2.
Cancer: Especially those that are undergoing active treatment.
Immunocompromised Conditions: Due to HIV, AIDS, organ transplant, and other conditions.
Chronic Kidney Disease: This is especially true for those on dialysis.
Chronic Liver Disease: Especially cirrhosis.
Obesity: Having a body mass index of 30 or higher.
Serious Neurological Disorders: Such as dementia, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis.
Pregnancy: Pregnant women are more vulnerable to COVID-19.
