Rare Allergy Types
A rare allergy is any allergy that is uncommon among the general population. Some of these allergies can be life-threatening and require immediate medical attention. Here are some of the rare allergies that people may encounter:

• Alpha-gal allergy: Alpha-gal allergy is a rare allergy to red meat, such as beef, pork, and lamb. This allergy is caused by a bite from a Lone Star tick, which is found in parts of the United States.
• Latex allergy: Latex allergy is an allergic reaction to latex, which is a material found in some medical gloves and other products. Symptoms of a latex allergy can include hives, itching, and difficulty breathing.
• Chlorine allergy: Chlorine allergy is an allergy to chlorine, which is a chemical commonly used to disinfect swimming pools. Symptoms of a chlorine allergy can include coughing, wheezing, and itchy eyes.
