I am a bit confused about autoimmune hemolytic anemia. What age is this condition typically found in? Does it vary by gender? I'm looking for some help and advice on this subject. Any information about the age of those affected by autoimmune hemolytic anemia would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone have any personal experience or knowledge on this topic? I'd love to hear what you have to say.

Autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is a type of anemia in which the body's immune system attacks and destroys red blood cells. This can happen at any age, but it is most common in people over the age of 60. AIHA can also occur in younger people, including children. The exact cause of AIHA is unknown, but it is believed to be triggered by a virus or other environmental factor. AIHA can be mild or severe and can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. Treatment for AIHA usually involves medications to suppress the immune system and/or transfusions of red blood cells.
