I'm looking for some help understanding when to receive the AVM vaccine. I've heard that it's recommended for babies, but I'm not sure at what age. Is it given at birth or later? Are there any age restrictions on the vaccine? Has anyone else had experience with the AVM vaccine? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

AVM Vaccine Age Recommendations

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends that all children aged 11 or 12 years receive the acellular pertussis (whooping cough) vaccine (also known as the AVM vaccine) as a single dose. The AVM vaccine can also be given as a two-dose series, with the first dose at 11 or 12 years of age and a booster dose at 16 years of age.

The ACIP also recommends that all adolescents aged 13 to 17 years who have not yet received the AVM vaccine should receive a single dose. The vaccine is also recommended for adults aged 18 or older who did not receive the vaccine as an adolescent or were not previously vaccinated.

The ACIP also recommends that adults aged 19 to 64 years who have close contact with an infant younger than 12 months of age should receive a single dose of the AVM vaccine. The ACIP also recommends that adults aged 65 years or older who have not yet received the AVM vaccine should receive a single dose.

Adults aged 19 to 64 years who are at high risk for getting whooping cough (e.g. healthcare workers, people who live with or care for a baby younger than 12 months of age, etc.) should also receive a single dose of the AVM vaccine.

It is important to remember that while the ACIP recommends the AVM vaccine for all ages, some states have different laws and regulations regarding the age range for receiving the vaccine. It is important to consult with your healthcare provider or local health department to determine the specific requirements for receiving the AVM vaccine in your state.

The age at which you should receive the AVM vaccine depends on the type of vaccine you are receiving. For the inactivated polio vaccine (IPV), most people should receive the vaccine at 2 months, 4 months, 6-18 months, and 4-6 years of age, with a booster dose at 4-6 years of age. For the live oral polio vaccine (OPV), the schedule is usually 2 months, 4 months, and 6-18 months of age.

It is important to note that there is a Catch-up schedule for people who may be behind on their vaccinations. People from 4 months through 18 years of age who have not received all doses of the polio vaccine according to the recommended schedule should receive the appropriate numbers of doses to complete the series.

In addition, people 19 years of age and older who have not received the polio vaccine should receive a single dose of the inactivated polio vaccine (IPV). It is recommended that pregnant women should receive the polio vaccine if they have never been vaccinated, or if they have received fewer than three doses of the vaccine.

It is important to talk to your healthcare provider to determine if you or your child need any immunizations, including the AVM vaccine. Your healthcare provider can provide you with more information and advice on the recommended schedule for the polio vaccine.

The AVM vaccine is recommended for people between the ages of 11 and 26. It is a three-dose series, with the second dose given 1 to 2 months after the first, and the third dose given 6 months after the first. The vaccine should be given to all adolescents between 11 and 12 years of age, and it can be given to those 13 years and older who have not yet received it. It is also recommended for those who have not previously been vaccinated who are at risk of infection, such as people who are in close contact with someone who has chickenpox or shingles.

The AVM vaccine is recommended for children aged 12 months and above. It is a two-dose vaccine with the second dose given at least 4 weeks after the first dose. The vaccine is not recommended for children under 12 months old because the immune system may not be able to respond properly. Adults who have never received the vaccine are recommended to receive 2 doses at least 4 weeks apart.

"At what age should my child receive the AVM vaccine?"

The AVM vaccine is recommended for children aged 12-15 months. It is given as part of the routine childhood immunization schedule. The vaccine is given in two doses, the first dose at 12-15 months of age and the second dose at 4-6 years of age. For optimal protection, both doses should be given on schedule.

The AVM vaccine is recommended for adults over the age of 18. It is important to discuss the vaccine with your doctor, as it may be available at different ages depending on your health history and risk factors.
