I am trying to understand if serum amylase is better than serum lipase in acute pancreatitis. Could someone please explain why one might be better than the other? I am also curious about the diagnostic accuracy of each test in terms of diagnosing acute pancreatitis. Any additional insights or experiences with using either of these tests would be greatly appreciated.
