Is rhinitis all year round

"Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice and help around the topic of rhinitis, specifically whether it is an all year round condition. I suffer from rhinitis and I'm not sure if it is a year-round condition or if it flares up at certain times. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to manage it? I'm really interested in hearing what other people have to say about this.

Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Rhinitis is a condition that affects the nose and can cause inflammation, sneezing, and a runny or stuffy nose. It is commonly caused by allergies, but infections or irritants can also cause it. Most cases of rhinitis are seasonal, meaning they occur at certain times of the year. However, there are some cases of rhinitis that happen all year round.

What Causes Year-Round Rhinitis?

Year-round rhinitis can be caused by allergies to indoor allergens such as dust mites, pet dander, and mold. It can also be caused by irritants such as smoke, perfumes, and cleaning products. In some cases, it can be caused by a medical condition such as a deviated septum or nasal polyps.

Symptoms of Year-Round Rhinitis

The symptoms of year-round rhinitis are similar to those of seasonal rhinitis. These can include a runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, itchy eyes, and a sore throat. In some cases, symptoms can be more severe and can include headaches and difficulty breathing.

Treatment for Year-Round Rhinitis

The treatment for year-round rhinitis will depend on the cause. Allergy medications such as antihistamines can help reduce symptoms. Nasal corticosteroids are also often used to reduce inflammation. If the cause is an infection, antibiotics may be necessary. In some cases, surgery may be needed to correct a deviated septum or remove nasal polyps.

Preventing Year-Round Rhinitis

The best way to prevent year-round rhinitis is to avoid the allergens or irritants that are causing the condition. This can be done by keeping the home free of dust and pet dander, using air filters, and avoiding smoking and perfumes. It is also important to get treatment for any underlying medical conditions that may be contributing to the rhinitis.
