I'm looking for some help. Does anyone have any information about pancreatic pain? Is it dull or sharp? I'm trying to find out more information about this type of pain and would appreciate any advice or info from people who have experienced it. Does anyone know if there are any treatments for pancreatic pain? Does the pain come on suddenly or gradually? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Pancreatic Pain: Dull or Sharp?
Symptoms of Pancreatic Pain

Pancreatic pain can range from a dull ache to a sharp, stabbing sensation. Pain may radiate to the back, sides, or abdomen, and may be accompanied by fever, nausea, vomiting, and jaundice. It can be a sign of pancreatitis, which is an inflammation of the pancreas. Pancreatic cancer can also cause pain in this area.

Causes of Pancreatic Pain

Pancreatic pain can be caused by a number of conditions including gallstones, alcohol abuse, or an infection. Pancreatitis can be caused by an obstruction of the common bile duct or a viral infection. Pancreatic cancer can also cause pain in the abdomen.

Diagnosis of Pancreatic Pain

If you experience pain in the abdomen, it is important to visit your doctor immediately. Your doctor will ask about your medical history and perform a physical exam. Blood tests, an abdominal ultrasound, or an MRI may be necessary to help diagnose the cause of the pain.

Treatment of Pancreatic Pain

Treatment for pancreatic pain will depend on the underlying cause. If the cause is due to an infection, antibiotics may be prescribed. If the cause is due to gallstones, surgery may be necessary. If the cause is due to pancreatic cancer, chemotherapy and radiation may be recommended.
