Hi everyone,

I'm new to discussing MBTI types and I'm wondering if it's possible to have 3 MBTI types? I'm not sure if this is a valid question, but I was curious to know if anyone else has heard of this before and could shed some light on the matter. I'd really appreciate any help or advice you have.

No, it is not possible to have 3 MBTI types. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality inventory that assigns individuals to one of 16 personality types based on how they answer a series of questions. The 16 personality types are determined by four dichotomies: Extraversion (E) and Introversion (I); Sensing (S) and Intuition (N); Thinking (T) and Feeling (F); and Judging (J) and Perceiving (P). Each type is represented by a combination of four letters (e.g., ISTJ). Therefore, it is not possible to have 3 MBTI types because the MBTI is based on four dichotomies and these dichotomies are combined to form 16 unique personality types.
