Is it ok to be not so social

I'm not very socially inclined and I'm starting to feel like something is wrong with me. Is it okay to be not so social? I find it difficult to connect with people, especially in large groups. I don't like being the centre of attention and I find it hard to talk about myself. I'm worried that this is negatively affecting my life, so I'm looking for some advice from experienced people. Has anyone else been in a similar situation and can offer any helpful advice? Do you think it's possible to have a healthy lifestyle and still not be very social? Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
