I'm looking for some help understanding the Coombs test. Does anyone know if it is an IgG or IgM test? I'm not sure which one it is and I'd appreciate any help I can get. I've read some information about it online but I'm still not sure.

The Coombs test, also known as the direct antiglobulin test (DAT), is used to detect the presence of antibodies attached to red blood cells (RBCs). It can detect both IgG and IgM antibodies. IgG antibodies are the most common type of antibody and are usually responsible for an immune response to a foreign antigen. IgM antibodies are typically seen in cases of infection.
