I'm hoping to get some help from other forum users about the topic of whether carbon dioxide is considered to be carbon monoxide. I'm not sure if it is, and if it is, why? Could anyone explain this to me? I'm trying to understand the difference between the two, and it would be helpful to hear different perspectives.

Subtitle Forum: Is Carbon Dioxide Considered to be Carbon Monoxide?

No, carbon dioxide (CO2) is not the same as carbon monoxide (CO). Carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless gas that occurs naturally in the atmosphere. It is also a byproduct of the burning of fossil fuels. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is produced from the incomplete burning of fossil fuels. It is poisonous and can be fatal if breathed in high concentrations.
