Is AST found in the heart

I'm having difficulty finding information on whether AST is found in the heart or not. Does anyone have any insight on this? I've looked up a few sources online, but I'm still not sure what the answer is. Has anyone done any research on this topic or have any experience with it? I'd really appreciate any help I can get on this.

Subtitle: Is AST found in the heart?

AST, or aspartate aminotransferase, is a type of enzyme found in the heart, as well as other organs such as the liver and kidneys. It is part of the liver's metabolic cycle, and is responsible for the conversion of certain amino acids to other substances. In the heart, AST is involved in energy production, and helps to regulate the level of energy produced by cells in the heart. High levels of AST can indicate damage to the heart muscle, as it is released from cells when they are damaged or die.
