I'm an INTP and I'm wondering if anyone else here has experience with this type and could tell me if they are generally considered to be intelligent. I'm curious to hear what other people think, or if anyone has any experiences they can share about INTPs and intelligence.

INTPs, or Introverted Intuitive Thinking Perceivers, are often seen as intelligent, logical people. They enjoy analyzing and problem solving, and are often capable of understanding complex topics. They are also creative, independent thinkers who are often skilled at coming up with innovative solutions and ideas. However, intelligence is subjective and can be hard to measure. It is also important to note that INTPs may not always excel in more traditional academic settings due to their independent nature.

Problem-Solving Abilities

INTPs are often highly capable of solving complex problems. They use a combination of logic, intuition, and experience to come up with creative solutions. They are also able to think outside of the box and come up with unusual solutions that others may not have thought of. Additionally, they are often able to look at a problem from multiple angles and consider all possible solutions.

Critical Thinking

INTPs are naturally good at critical thinking. They are able to identify assumptions, recognize logical fallacies, and analyze arguments. They are also able to think abstractly and come up with creative solutions to problems. Additionally, INTPs are often able to see the big picture and understand how their decisions will affect the future.

Research Skills

INTPs are often skilled at researching topics. They are able to quickly and efficiently find relevant information and evaluate its accuracy. They are also able to synthesize information from multiple sources to come up with a comprehensive understanding of the topic. Additionally, they are often able to think critically and consider different perspectives when researching.

Overall, it is difficult to say whether or not INTPs are “smart”. Intelligence is subjective and varies from person to person. However, INTPs often possess a number of skills that can be seen as intellectual, including problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and research skills.
