"Hello everyone! I'm new here and I'm looking for some help. I have been diagnosed with allergic rhinitis and I was wondering if anyone here knows if it is type 1? I have seen some information about type 1 and type 2, but I'm not sure which one I have. I would really appreciate any advice or information that anyone can provide.

Allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever, is an allergic reaction to certain substances that cause inflammation in the nose and eyes. There are two main types of allergic rhinitis: seasonal and perennial.

Seasonal Allergic Rhinitis (Type 1)

Seasonal allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever, is an allergic reaction to certain substances that occur during certain seasons or times of the year. Common seasonal allergens include pollen, mold, and dust mites. Symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis often include sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchy and watery eyes.

Perennial Allergic Rhinitis (Type 2)

Perennial allergic rhinitis, also known as year-round allergies, is an allergic reaction to certain substances that occur year-round. Common perennial allergens include pet dander, dust mites, and cockroach droppings. Symptoms of perennial allergic rhinitis often include sneezing, nasal congestion, and itchy and watery eyes.

Allergic rhinitis is an allergic reaction to allergens in the environment, such as pollen or dust. Symptoms include sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, and itchy eyes. Treatment mainly involves avoiding allergens in the environment, and medications such as antihistamines or nasal sprays can also be used to reduce symptoms. In some cases, immunotherapy may also be recommended. It is important to speak to your doctor to determine the best course of treatment for your specific condition.
