If a wolf appears in front of us, it is important to remain calm and take the appropriate steps to ensure our safety. The first step is to assess the situation. If the wolf is not exhibiting any aggressive behavior, then there is likely no immediate danger and it is best to slowly back away from the animal and let it pass.
If the wolf appears to be aggressive or appears to be stalking us, then we must take more drastic action. The best option is to make loud noises and wave our arms or stick to try and scare the animal away. If this does not work, then we must prepare to fight back. Grab a large stick or a rock and use it to threaten and ward off the animal. If the wolf continues to advance, then it is time to fight back with full force. Aim for the animal's eyes, nose, or mouth. Do not back down until the wolf retreats.
If the wolf attacks, it is important to curl up into a ball and cover the back of the head and neck with our arms. Remain still and do not move, as this will make the animal think you are dead. Once the wolf has backed away, slowly and calmly move away.
Above all else, it is important to remain calm and assess the situation before taking action. If we take the necessary steps, we can protect ourselves and the wolf from harm.
