"Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm looking for some help. I'm wondering how much hard drive space World of Warcraft takes up. Does anyone know how many GBs it requires? I'm hoping to find out so I can make sure I have enough hard drive space for the game. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

World of Warcraft File Size

World of Warcraft (WoW) is an incredibly popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Blizzard Entertainment. It's been an iconic game since its initial release in 2004 and continues to be a popular choice among gamers. To play WoW, players must purchase the game and download the client software. But how much space does the game take up?

On the PC, the World of Warcraft client requires a minimum of 70 GB of hard drive space. The installation includes the base game and all of its expansions. However, the game is constantly updated, so the amount of space required may increase over time. If you have multiple expansions installed, the amount of space required could be even higher.

The Mac version of the game is slightly different. It requires 70 GB for the base game plus all expansions, but additional space may be needed for patches and updates.

Patches and Updates

WoW is constantly being updated and patched. This means that the game may require more space than the 70 GB minimum. The exact amount of space required depends on the number and size of the patches and updates that have been released.

For example, the latest patch for the game was 8.2.5. This patch required an additional 5.5 GB of space. Other patches may require more or less space, depending on the content that was included.

Addons and Mods

In addition to the game itself, many players choose to install addons and mods to enhance their experience. These addons and mods can take up a considerable amount of space. The exact amount of space required depends on the number and size of the addons and mods that you install. Some larger addons and mods can take up more than 1 GB of space.

Conclusion

World of Warcraft requires a minimum of 70 GB of hard drive space, but the amount of space required may be higher depending on the number of expansions, patches, updates, addons, and mods that you have installed. To ensure that you have enough space for the game, always check the amount of available storage on your device before downloading and installing WoW.

World of Warcraft (WoW) is an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game) released by Blizzard Entertainment in 2004. The size of WoW can vary based on the content you have installed. The base game requires around 45GB of disk space, and the vanilla version of the game takes up approximately 20GB. If you have any of the expansions installed, such as The Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King, then you can expect the size to increase by an additional 10-20GB. Finally, if you have any of the extra content such as mounts, pets or character customization options then this will add an additional few GB to the total size. Therefore, in conclusion, the size of WoW can range anywhere from 20-75GB.
