How is Hhv8 transmitted

I'm trying to understand how Hhv8 is transmitted and would like to ask the community for help. Does anyone know what kind of ways are possible for Hhv8 to be spread from person to person? Is it only through direct contact with someone who has the virus, or can it be spread in other ways? What are the symptoms associated with it? Any information or advice about Hhv8 would be much appreciated.

Hhv8, also known as Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus, is transmitted through various ways, including sexual contact, blood transfusions, and organ transplants. It can also be spread through saliva, and contact with infected saliva on surfaces.

In most cases, Hhv8 is transmitted through sexual contact. The virus can be spread through vaginal, anal, or oral sex. It can also be spread through sharing sex toys, and through contact with infected genital secretions.

Blood transfusions can also be a way for the virus to spread. Blood transfusions may be needed during surgery, or to treat certain medical conditions.

Organ transplants can also be a way for the virus to spread. The risk is higher when the donor and recipient are not related, and when the donor has had unprotected sex with someone who has Hhv8.

Saliva can also be a way for the virus to spread. It can be spread by sharing drinks and food, and by kissing someone who has the virus.

Contact with infected saliva on surfaces can also spread the virus. This could include contact with surfaces such as doorknobs, keyboards, and other objects that have been in contact with saliva from someone with the virus.

Hhv8 is not spread through casual contact, such as shaking hands or hugging someone who has the virus. It is also not spread through the air, such as by sneezing or coughing.

Human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8), also known as Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), is transmitted through direct contact with saliva, blood, or other bodily fluids of an infected person. It is most commonly spread through sex, especially among men who have sex with men (MSM). Additionally, HHV-8 can be transmitted from mother to child during childbirth, and through blood transfusions and organ transplants from an infected donor.

HHV-8 is not very contagious and cannot be spread through casual contact, such as touching, sneezing, or coughing. It is also not spread through sharing food, dishes, or utensils, or through contact with animals.

The main symptom of HHV-8 is a type of skin cancer called Kaposi’s sarcoma, which can appear as purple or red spots on the skin. Other symptoms may include fever, night sweats, fatigue, and weight loss. People with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV/AIDS, are more likely to develop Kaposi’s sarcoma after being infected with HHV-8.

If you have been exposed to HHV-8, it is important to talk to your doctor right away. They can order tests to determine whether you have been infected and provide treatment options if needed. Treatment usually involves antiviral medications, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy.

Human herpes virus 8 (HHV8) is primarily transmitted through sexual contact. It can be spread through any form of sexual contact, including direct genital-to-genital contact, as well as contact with infected body fluids such as semen, saliva, and blood. The virus is also believed to be spread through contact with infected objects such as towels, razors, and sex toys. HHV8 can also be spread from mother to child during birth. It is important to practice safe sex, particularly with partners whose sexual health status is unknown. Additionally, it is important to practice good hygiene and use protection when engaging in sexual activities.
