Does an MRI show chronic pancreatitis

I'm looking for help understanding if an MRI can show chronic pancreatitis. I've been suffering from abdominal pain for a while and my doctor suggested an MRI to help diagnose the cause. I'm wondering if an MRI can actually spot chronic pancreatitis specifically. Does anyone have any experience with this or know if it's possible? Any help or advice would be much appreciated.
