Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I'm hoping to get some advice. I was diagnosed with a kidney cyst and I'm worried that it could turn into cancer. Has anyone else here experienced something similar? If so, what did you do? I'm looking for any advice on how to handle this and what the potential risks are.

Does a Kidney Cyst Turn Into Cancer?

Kidney cysts are fluid-filled sacs that may form in the kidneys. In some cases, they can cause symptoms and require treatment. However, it is important to note that kidney cysts are not the same as kidney cancer.

Kidney Cyst

The short answer is no. Kidney cysts are not the same as kidney cancer. While kidney cysts are not cancerous, they can cause symptoms that can be mistaken for cancer. If you experience any of the symptoms mentioned above, it is important to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis.

No, a kidney cyst does not necessarily lead to cancer. Kidney cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can form in the kidneys. They are usually benign, meaning they are non-cancerous and do not cause any harm. However, if a cyst is large or causes symptoms, it may need to be surgically removed. It is also important to note that if a cyst is found to be suspicious on imaging exams, it may need to be further evaluated with a biopsy to determine if it is cancerous.

Kidney cysts are fluid-filled sacs that can form on or in the kidneys. While most cysts are benign and pose no threat, some can develop into cancer. The risk of a kidney cyst turning into cancer is very low, but it's important to monitor any cysts that form. If the cyst continues to grow, changes shape or causes pain or other symptoms, it's important to get it checked out by a doctor. Your doctor may recommend imaging tests to monitor the cyst or even removal if it's causing symptoms or appears to be cancerous.
