"Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and I'm looking for some help. I have recently learned about Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and I am wondering if people with CAIS have pubic hair. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this issue that they can share? Any help would be much appreciated.

CAIS stands for Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome. It is a condition that is caused by a genetic mutation in the androgen receptor gene. People with CAIS are born with a female genotype, but their bodies are unable to respond to androgens, the male hormones. As a result, they have female external genitalia and do not undergo the normal process of male puberty.

Do People with CAIS Have Pubic Hair?

Yes, people with CAIS can develop pubic hair. The development of pubic hair is one of the physical changes that occur during puberty, but in people with CAIS, it usually occurs later than in typical male puberty. It is caused by the body's response to the hormones produced by the adrenal glands, which are not affected by the genetic mutation.

Androgen is any hormone that has masculinizing effects on the body. Testosterone is the primary androgen hormone, but there are others as well. Androgens are responsible for the development of secondary sex characteristics, such as facial hair, body hair, and pubic hair.

Yes, people with CAIS (Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome) can have pubic hair. CAIS is a condition in which the body does not respond to androgens, the hormones responsible for male sexual development. This means that people with CAIS have female external genitalia, but their bodies do not produce the hormones necessary for the typical development of female secondary sexual characteristics, such as pubic hair. However, pubic hair can still develop due to the presence of other hormones, such as estrogens. Therefore, it is possible for people with CAIS to have pubic hair, although it may be less than normally expected.

Yes, people with CAIS can have pubic hair. CAIS, or Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, is a rare genetic disorder that occurs when a person's body does not respond to testosterone, the male sex hormone. While the condition mostly affects the reproductive organs, it can also cause the growth of pubic hair, which is typically fine and sparse. In some cases, however, pubic hair may not grow at all. In addition, the hair may grow in a different pattern than that of a typically developing male. It is important to note that CAIS does not affect everyone in the same way, so the amount of pubic hair may vary from person to person.

Do people with CAIS have pubic hair? The answer to this question depends on a variety of factors.

CAIS stands for Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome and is a genetic disorder that affects a person’s hormones and development of their reproductive organs. People with CAIS are born with XY chromosomes, which are usually associated with male sex, but their bodies do not respond to male hormones, so they typically have female external genitalia.

In terms of pubic hair, the answer is not a definitive yes or no. It depends on the person’s individual genetic makeup and how their body responds to androgen hormones. Some people with CAIS may have pubic hair due to other factors that influence their hormone production, such as adrenal hormones. Others may have very little or no pubic hair due to their bodies not responding to androgen hormones.

It is important to note that pubic hair is a very individual thing, and whether someone with CAIS has pubic hair or not should not be used as a measure of their gender identity or expression. Everyone is unique and should be respected regardless of their physical characteristics.

Yes, people with CAIS have pubic hair. CAIS stands for Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, which is a genetic disorder that affects the development of the reproductive system. People with CAIS have XY chromosomes, but the body is unable to respond to androgens, which are hormones that cause male characteristics such as pubic hair. However, people with CAIS do experience pubic hair growth, usually around the age of puberty, due to the body's response to other hormones, such as estrogens. Additionally, pubic hair growth may be more sparse than in people without CAIS.

Yes, people with CAIS can have pubic hair. CAIS, or Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, is a condition in which a person is genetically male but is unable to respond to male hormones (androgens), resulting in a female physical appearance. People with CAIS may have a small amount of pubic hair due to the presence of some residual androgens, but the hair will be typically sparse and thin. Additionally, people with CAIS may experience an increase in pubic hair during puberty or as a result of taking hormone replacement therapy.

Yes, people who have CAIS typically have pubic hair. This is because CAIS is a condition in which a person is born with a female-appearing external reproductive anatomy, but has a male chromosomal makeup. As such, individuals with CAIS have the potential to grow pubic hair, just like any other male.
