Hi everyone, I'm new here and I'm looking for some help.
I'm interested in knowing if people with borderline personality disorder can experience love. I've heard conflicting stories and I'm not sure what to believe. Can anyone provide advice on this subject? Do any of you have personal experience with BPD and can offer some insight into this topic?
Any help is much appreciated.

Borderlines are capable of feeling love, although their understanding of it is often distorted. They may struggle to differentiate between love and intense attachment or fear of abandonment. Borderlines tend to experience love in extreme ways, such as idealizing a partner when things are going well, but then devaluing them when they experience distress. They may also struggle to trust their own feelings and be suspicious of people who love them. With understanding, support, and appropriate treatment, however, many borderlines can learn to process love in a healthier way.
