Can your neck break from strangulation

I'm hoping to get some help from other users on this forum about the dangers of strangulation. Has anyone ever experienced or heard of a situation where someone's neck was broken from being strangled? I know that strangulation can cause irreversible brain damage, but I'm wondering if it can actually break someone's neck. I'd really appreciate any input or advice from someone with more knowledge on this subject.

Strangulation is the act of compressing a person’s neck with enough force to cut off the air supply to the brain. It is a dangerous act that can have serious and even deadly consequences.

Risk of Neck Breakage

The risk of neck breakage due to strangulation is considered to be low. It is possible for the neck muscles to tear or the vertebrae to fracture if the pressure is extreme enough. This is more likely to occur in infants or children than in adults.

Neurological Damage

Strangulation can cause significant neurological damage, even if the neck does not break. When the brain is deprived of oxygen, it can suffer damage that can result in cognitive impairment, memory loss, or paralysis. This is why strangulation is considered a potentially deadly form of violence.

Prevention and Treatment

The best way to prevent neck breakage due to strangulation is to avoid situations where it could occur. If you are a victim of strangulation, seek medical attention right away. Treatment may involve respiratory support, medications, or, in extreme cases, surgery.
