I'm having trouble with something and I'm hoping someone can help. I was recently choking and I was wondering if it's possible to throw up if you're choking? Can anyone provide me with some insight? I'm worried about what might happen if I were to choke again and I'm not sure what my best course of action would be. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can you throw up if you're choking?

Choking and Vomiting

Choking occurs when food or other objects become lodged in the airway, preventing oxygen from getting to the lungs. A person who is choking may gag, cough, and have difficulty breathing. Vomiting is the body's natural response to something that is blocking the airway.

Vomiting is the forceful expulsion of the contents of the stomach and upper digestive tract through the mouth. It can occur when a person is choking, and is a natural reflex to remove the obstruction from the airway.

Can You Throw Up If You're Choking?

The answer is yes, it is possible for a person to throw up if they are choking. Vomiting is a natural reflex of the body when something is blocking the airway, and the person may be able to expel the object in this way. However, vomiting can also cause the object to become even more lodged in the airway, so it is important to seek medical attention if a person is choking.
