I'm in a bit of a panic here and need some help. Is it possible to survive nine minutes without oxygen? I was reading about a study on animals and humans and it said that you can survive nine minutes without oxygen, but I'm really not sure if that's true. Has anyone else heard of this or has any experience with this? Can someone please provide some insight and help me understand this better? Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

Can You Survive 9 Minutes Without Oxygen?

Oxygen is an essential element for human life. Without it, our cells cannot function properly, and eventually, our organs shut down. So, the question is, can a person survive without oxygen for up to nine minutes?

The answer is both yes and no. In some cases, a person can survive for up to nine minutes without oxygen, but it depends on the circumstances. For instance, if a person is in a hypoxic environment—an atmosphere with high levels of carbon dioxide and low levels of oxygen—they can survive for up to nine minutes without oxygen.

Hypoxia is a medical condition that occurs when the body is deprived of adequate oxygen. It can be caused by a variety of factors, including altitude sickness, underwater diving, and air pollution.

However, even if a person is in a hypoxic environment, they are still likely to suffer from some form of brain damage after nine minutes without oxygen. The reason for this is that the brain is especially sensitive to oxygen deprivation, and even a few minutes without oxygen can cause permanent damage.

In addition, even if a person is in a hypoxic environment, their body will still struggle to survive without oxygen for nine minutes. The body needs oxygen to make energy, and without it, the body’s cells will start to shut down.

So, while it is possible to survive nine minutes without oxygen, it is not easy and, in most cases, it is not recommended. If you find yourself in a situation where you are deprived of oxygen, it is important to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
