"Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and am hoping to get some advice. I'm wondering if anyone has any knowledge about whether it's possible for humans to survive with only 10% oxygen. Can anyone provide me with some insight? I'd really appreciate it.

Can We Survive with 10% Oxygen?

The amount of oxygen in the atmosphere is a critical factor for all living things. Oxygen is required for the functioning of the body and for metabolism. But can we survive if the oxygen levels drop to 10% of the atmospheric levels?

Oxygen is a colorless, odorless gas which makes up 21% of the Earth's atmosphere. It is essential for all life forms, as it is required for the metabolic processes that sustain life. All organisms, including humans, need oxygen to survive.

Hypoxia is a condition caused by a lack of oxygen in the body. It can cause a range of symptoms, from headaches and dizziness to confusion and unconsciousness. Hypoxia can be life-threatening and is an especially serious risk for those at high altitudes, where oxygen levels are significantly lower than at sea level.

Given the importance of oxygen in the atmosphere, it is not surprising that scientists have wondered what the effects would be if the oxygen levels dropped to 10% or less. In the laboratory, scientists have been able to maintain a 10% oxygen environment for some animals, but the long-term effects are still unknown.

Hypoxia is a serious risk if oxygen levels drop below 10%. At this level, it is likely that most animals would experience hypoxia and many would die. Humans, in particular, would suffer the effects of hypoxia, which can be fatal if not treated immediately.

The effects of low oxygen levels on the environment are also unknown. Plants, which require oxygen to photosynthesize, would be severely affected. It is possible that entire ecosystems could collapse if oxygen levels were to drop below 10%.

In conclusion, it is unlikely that any living thing can survive in an atmosphere with oxygen levels of 10% or lower. If oxygen levels were to drop this low, it would have a devastating effect on all life forms, including humans.
