Can CO2 gas burn

I'm curious to know if CO2 gas can burn. Can anyone help me with this? I've read that CO2 gas is nonflammable, however I've also heard that it can be used for fire suppression. Is this true? Can I use CO2 gas as a flame retardant? Are there any materials that will ignite if exposed to CO2 gas? I'd really appreciate any advice from other forum users on this topic.

CO2 is a colorless, odorless gas, and it does not burn. This is because it is not flammable and does not support combustion. CO2 can be dangerous in enclosed spaces, however, as it displaces the oxygen needed for breathing.

What is CO2?

CO2 is a molecular compound made up of two oxygen atoms and one carbon atom. It is produced naturally in the atmosphere and is used as a heat-trapping gas to regulate the earth's temperature. CO2 is also released from burning fossil fuels, such as oil, gas, and coal, and is a major contributor to climate change.

How is CO2 used?

CO2 is used in many industries, including food and beverage production, fire suppression, and water treatment. It is also used to carbonate drinks, in fire extinguishers, and to preserve food.

Can CO2 be hazardous?

CO2 can be hazardous in enclosed spaces if the oxygen levels become too low. This can lead to asphyxiation, which can be fatal. It is important to ensure that ventilation is adequate in any space where CO2 is present.
